For My Good

So many things have been tough recently. Marriage has been tough, parenting has been tough, managing my time and having motivation to to the things I need to do has been tough, and living in Korea has been tough.
And today I’m up to my ears in forms and documents that have to be filled out for our emergency evacuation kit. And the documents are, in true Army fashion, A MESS.
And I hate paperwork and fine print and the kids are sick and whiny and I thought that my husband had already taken care of the paperwork and now he’s at a field training exercise for a week and I have papers that need to be signed.
And I’m trying to remember that this is for my good. And that even though this is frustrating right now, this is a great opportunity to create an emergency binder that we can adapt and use wherever we go.
And difficult times teach me to rely on God. And being in Korea, being married, and being a parent are all teaching me obedience to God, the first time.
And obedience to God is FOR MY GOOD.
So if I can just muster up enough self-discipline and humility to say, “Yes, God”, He will give me the strength to follow through.
And through obedience He always leads me to a better place.
In my marriage, with my children, and in my life.
