Bleeding Out
Yesterday was a bloodbath. The kind of day that leaves you feeling like you’re bleeding out in the trenches. The kind of day where you don’t have any more to give and you can’t catch a break. At Home in Korea
This summer we took a month-long trip back to the States that was great but also provided some much-needed perspective. Coincidentally, we arrived back in Korea a few days after our one year anniversary of moving to Korea. And that brought all kinds of feels with it. I was surprised to discover that I was glad to be back. Not just glad to be back in our house and our routine, but actually glad to be back in Korea. After a year, it feels like home. For My Good
So many things have been tough recently. Marriage has been tough, parenting has been tough, managing my time and having motivation to to the things I need to do has been tough, and living in Korea has been tough. And today I’m up to my ears in forms and documents that have to be filled out for our emergency evacuation kit. And the documents are, in true Army fashion, A MESS. We Live in Korea
We’ve been in Korea for a little more than six months already. While I’m grateful for the opportunity to experience a new culture and explore cities and wilderness that I wouldn’t have the chance to see if we weren’t living here, there are a lot of things about Korea that I don’t love and didn’t expect: #1. Keeping My Soul Over Keeping My Home
I learned a very important lesson today. But there’s a bit of back-story, so hang in there. Here’s a few important facts to remember: We just moved to Korea. We just moved into our house last week. This radio show I love, The Bobby Bones Show (also the only radio show I can stand to listen to), recently added a new segment, called “Cry Me A River”, where listeners call in to complain about something trivial.
